Every year Earth Day is celebrated on 22nd April worldwide. Various events are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Symbiosis Institute of Geoinformatics has celebrated the Earth day by organizing Photography Competition with the theme of "Water Conservation". An awareness in the area of water conservation is extremely important because water reverses are limited for use. The theme is applied in the present day conditions.
In the competition organized by SIG twenty participants have participated and sent their photographs to the organizing committee. The organizing committee constituted a panel for the assessment of photographs received from the participants. The panel members were Mr. Amit Bhandare from Symbiosis School of Photography (SSP), Mrs. Ashwini Mohgaonkar SIG and Lt. Col B.K. Pradhan SIG. The panel conducted the assessement of different photographs. All photographs received were very much related with the theme and it was difficult to grade any of them in the order of first, second and third however, after long discussion committee has decided three photographs are appropriate to refelect the theme mentioned in the competition.
