Drones, also known as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), have played a significant role in advancing geospatial technology. They allow for the collection of high-resolution, accurate, and up-to-date imagery and data, which can be used for a variety of applications, such as mapping, surveying, and monitoring. Drones can also be equipped with various sensors, such as LiDAR, thermal and multispectral cameras, which can be used to gather even more detailed and specific information. Additionally, drones can access areas that are difficult for traditional survey methods to reach. Such as remote and hazardous locations. The drones have made the process of geospatial data collection faster, cheaper and more efficient.

Drones currently have found multiple applications, be it a disaster management, agriculture, medical services and delivery. Drones have been accepted as an important and reliable technology. Such advancements need to be talked about and experiences shared. This will open up newer avenues of use and applications.
